X Rally 1-2 in the Brazilian CC round
The Brazilian Cross Country Championship has started the way it had finished last season: with the Ford Ranger X Rally in front. Reigning champions Marcos Baumgart and Kleber Cincea won the first round of the year in Patos de Minas, Minas Gerais, with a team’s 1-2, as Mauro Guedes and Filipe Bianchini made their debut in the Ford Ranger X Rally.
“The track was sensational: there was everything, except snow”, joked Kleber Cincea. “It was a real pleasure to drive through those roads. The car was spetacular, as the team built it from scratch in just 18 days. Now we will continue our work to improve some areas”, says Marcos Baumgart.
For Mauro and Filipe, the expectations were limited to adapt with the new machinery. But they went beyond. Second place in their first race with the 360-hp powered prototype. “It was fun; the stages were really good, and everything went even better in the car we had. It is fast, reliable... We just wouldn’t want to stop!”, said Guedes.
Next challenge for X Rally Team is the RN Rally in the Brazilian Northeast region, from April 4 to 7.
