Ready to takeoff: X Rally Team set to their 20th Rally dos Sertões

Com megaestrutura, X Rally Team parte para seu 20º Sertões

Brazil’s Rally dos Sertões starts this Saturday with the Prologue in Goiânia maintaining its original characteristics: hot, dry, hard, fast and demanding. Cars, bikes, quads and UTVs will head to Fortaleza in a eight-day competition through 3,607 kilometers of variable surfaces pushing hard and working with strategy at the same time.

For X Rally Team, it will be their 20th edition out of 26 in the Sertões. The Brazilian team, which won in the last two years among cars with Cristian Baumgart and Beco Andreotti, will have seven cars to chase the title – five of them in the T1 FIA class.

The drivers are Cristian Baumgart, Marcos Baumgart, Sylvio de Barros, Gunter Hinkelmann, Gareth Woolridge, Cleber Rodrigues Rosa and Mauro Guedes. There are five Ford Ranger V8 4x4 T1 FIA cars; the other two prototypes race in the T1 and Pro-Brasil classes.

With seven drivers and seven co-drivers, the team bring great structure to attend the Sertões providing the best maintainance with a high-skilled crew of mechanics and engineers. There are 65 people working, seven support cars, six motorhomes, three trucks providing tools, fuel and dormitory for the mechanics, a food truck with a chef and two assistants, and two physiotherapists.

X Rally Team will race three Ford Rangers V8 4x4 built by Neil Woolridge Motorsport and other two Ford Rangers V8 4x4 built in Brazil by the team. Both companies sustain a fruitful partnership since 2014.

“Things changed a lot since our first outing in the Sertões, back in 1999. This year we have a great challenge, besides the quest for our third title in a rouw. We have a great structure in the team, serving multiple customers, e it shows the professionalism and the evolution o four team. This will be a long Sertões and we will work as hard as we can to serve our drivers in the best way possible”, highlights Beco Andreotti, Cristian Baumgart’s co-driver and Team Principal.
