Cristian and Beco win day 4
Defending champions, Cristian Baumgart and Beco Andreotti won the fourth stage of the Sertões this Wednesday between São Miguel do Araguaia and Porto Nacional, crossing the state of Goiás towards Tocantins. The X Rally Team duo extended the lead to almost seven minutes over Spinelli/Haddad.
"It was a stage like we use to see in the WRC. Fantastic. Fast, twisty, great view and great result", highlighted Cristian after de 277 kilometers that hosted the stage.
Marcos Baumgart and Kleber Cincea started a good recovery after two troubled days to finish fifth. Although the two-time Brazilian champions dropped to fourth. "Today was good to push. It is a long rally, so we have to be wise enought to take risks when necessary. Theres a long way to go, still", he said.
This Thursday the drivers and riders face the marathon stage in a 300-km stretch in the Jalapão region to reach São Félix do Tocantins. After getting to the city, the vehicles cannot receive any kind of external assistance.
