X Rally Team duos in the top-10
Dakar’s third day of competition comprised the longest stretch so far. There were 798 kilometers between San Juan de Marcona and Arequipa, and the competitors faced 342 kilometers in the stage. The Brazilian organization X Rally Team reached two good results with the Can-Am Maverick X3s of Marcos Baumgart/Kleber Cincea and Cristian Baumgart/Beco Andreotti, both in the top-10 of the special.
Marcos and Kleber were seventh in the 412, 27mins off the leaders, whilst Cristian and Beco finished ninth after stopping four times to change tyres and to fix the engine belt. In the general classification, the 412 stands in sixth position, while the 398 climbed two spots, now in 14th place.
This Thursday holds the first leg of the marathon, when the crews cannot have any kind of support from the teams in their vehicles. They leave Arequipa torwards Tacna in a 351-km special – 664 total.
