X Rally Team to race Dakar in the UTV class
After consolidating a project started back in 2014 and which gave X Rally Team three consecutive Sertões titles among cars with the NWM/X Rally Ford Rangers V8, the team based in São Paulo will race the Dakar, next January, among the UTVs.
With 100% of the route inside Peru, the Dakar starts on January 6th and follows until the 17th, with more than 2,000 kms on dunes. An enourmous challenge – one of the reasons X Rally Team had chosen to race in a new class instead of cars.
Cristian Baumgart/Beco Andreotti and Marcos Baumgart/Kleber Cincea will drive the South Racing-prepared Can-Am Maverick X3. “We had a new experience racing this machinery at the Desafio Inca and it was extremely positive”, says Beco Andreotti, how is also the team manager.
Cristian will hold the number 398, while his younger brother Marcus will ltake the number 412. “It will be the first time we will be in the Dakar together as a team, and our participation in the Inca desert was much appreciated to give us a hint of what is to come. We adapted very well to the UTVs and I think we can be competitive”, highlights Marcos Baumgart.
