Brazilian-built Ford Ranger V8 X Rally Team win on its debut

Ford Ranger X Rally mantém aproveitamento 100% após vitória no RN 1500

After winning twice in a row the most difficult Brazilian cross country competition, X Rally Team embarqued on a new odissey: to built its own T1 FIA cars based on South Africa’s Neil Woolridge Motorsports Ford Ranger V8 4x4 project. Two units are ready, racing and winning in Brazil.

The last triunph was in Rio Grande do Norte, during the RN 1500 last weekend. In the dunes of the Brazilian Northeast, X Rally Team scored a 1-2 with the Ford Rangers of Marcos Baumgart/Kleber Cincea and Gunter Hinkelman/Vinicius Castro.

It was the second win in the second outing of the T1 FIA machinery built in São Paulo, as Marcos and Kleber won the previous round of the Brazilian Cross Country Championship in Minas Gerais last March.

“The car is top equipment. We raced through eight days of competition until now and not a single problem was reported whatsoever. The cars ran withouth any issue, delivering the performance it should deliver”, highlights Beco Andreotti, X Rally Team manager.

Since the T1 FIA titles in the Rally dos Sertões in 2016 and 2017, and now building their own machinery with the consultance of NWM Motorsports, the team have proven their technical quality with the best team structure in Brazilian rally.

Gunter Hinkelman and Marcos Baumgart are the first clients to have ever raced with the Brazilian machine. “This was the toughest RN 1500 I have ever taken part of, however, at the same time, this was the most pleasant one because of the car. It gives you so many resources, it reads the terrain so well and gives you so much performance. It is way beyond anything built in Brazil before. I am really amused and looking forward to keep racing it”, said Hinkelman.

“We went through two very difficult rallies, in different kinds of roads: sand, rocks, dunes, mud, a good variety. It has been a good test to our car, since we did not have any technical problems having raced more than 2,000 kilometers. So, it has been the logical choice to run this Ford Ranger V8 X Rally due to its performance and great reliability”, stated Baumgart.

Products of thousands of kilometers in testing and countinuous development through competition inside and outside the country, the Ford Rangers V8 X Rally Team are available for sale or rent, ready to race in any T1 FIA class competition, such as the South American and South African Cross Country Championship, the World Championship, the Rally dos Sertões and the Dakar as well, suiting the clients preferences.
