X Rally Team face the “Jalapão Monster” before the Sertões
X Rally Team is looking forward to keep and extend their lead in the Brazilian Cross Country Championship standings this weekend in the Jalapão Rally, wich starts this Friday in Luís Eduardo Magalhães and travels through Dianópolis and São Félix do Tocantins, in the so-called Jalapão area – one of the most difficult in Brazilian off-road racing.
The São Paulo-based squad take three X Rally Ford Rangers T1 Brasil spec to the race. Current leaders Marcos Baumgart and Kleber Cincea fight for their second victory in the season, the same as the duo Mauro Guedes/Filipe Bianchini.
In the third sister car comes Sylvio de Barros, runner-up in the last Sertões, to partner Beco Andreotti. He had been out of rallying since the last Sertões, but kept racing in the Porsche Cup Series in Brazil. “So, this event will help me to shake the dust out and get used again to off-road racing. Besides, it will be a great test ahead of the Sertões”, Sylvio highlighted.
“It is the hardest one on the calendar, besides the Sertões”, says Beco, referring to the Jalapão Rally. “Since we will go through this area in the Sertões, this will be the ultimate test for our equipment and to measure our performance against the competition”.
The Jalapão Rally is 1,228 km long.
