X Rally Team in action an ocean apart
X Rally Team will race in two different continents this weekend. While Marcos Baumgart defends his season lead in the Brazilian Cross Country Championship in Botucatu, his elder brother Cristian will race in South Africas Battlefields 400 in the South African Cross Country Championship.
In the Brazilian round, the team take two in-house built Ford Rangers V8 4x4. The cars will be driven by Marcos Baumart and Gunter Hinkelman; both of them will have new co-drivers especially for the round in Botucatu: Marcelo Haseyama will co-drive for Marcos, while Fabio Pedroso joins Gunter.
Two-time Sertões champions, Cristian Baumgart and Beco Andreotti race in South Africa to test the latest updates on the NWM Ford Ranger V8 4x4 build by Neil Woolridges firm. Both companies sustain a four-year old partnership. Last March, Marcos and Kleber Cincea raced in the first round of the SACCS and finished in a good third place.
"We will be split by an ocean", jokes Beco, X Rally team principal and Cristians long-time co-driver. "Our team focus on maintaining the championship lead in Brazil and on the development of the cars we built in São Paulo, continuing to show great performance, strenght and reliability, while Cristian and I will be in the cold South Africa to check and test the latest upgrades on our car", he said.
